Surface Lakes & Streams

Rock Creek’s mine plan includes robust geotechnical and hydrologic investigations and includes buffer zones to restrict mining within 1,000 feet of surface lakes. Mining will take place approximately 900 feet below the surface. Furthermore, conservative hydrological models indicate that, at the end of production/operations (year 35), baseflow at the mouths of Rock Creek, Bull River, and East Fork Bull River could potentially be reduced by only 4 percent or less.
