The Rock Creek Mine will have a minimal footprint. Approximately 75 percent of that footprint will be the tailings facility, located along Highway 200 next to a lumber mill and more than five miles from the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness boundary. But we recognize that, operating so close to a pristine area, we’re responsible for taking the necessary measures to protect it – just as we have at all of our operations. (In fact, our Greens Creek mine in Alaska operates within a National Monument.) We understand the issues surrounding Rock Creek, and will work to develop the property with minimal impact on the environment while providing a positive impact on the surrounding communities of Sanders and Lincoln Counties.
